STEMbassadors at D.A.T.A.!

STEMbassadors Training at D.A.T.A.! Former D.A.T.A. students trained teachers to use the CNC router STEAM technology! See photos below of teacher projects aided by student experts. Projects include a Kinetic gear model made by teachers and name plaques created by each teacher. I also made a plaque with my name for my teacher desk, a safety sign for our site's CNC router cart, and added epoxy to my carving of a juxtaposition of Japan’s geography (a student project I assign in class)! Also, check out the NPR radio show highlighting our experience!

Renaissance Revival Faire 2018

What a fun day!  Thursday was our annual Renaissance Revival Faire! Students not only transformed into their Renaissance eminent people decked out in costume and props with detailed poster projects and artifacts displayed, but also wrote news articles about their eminent people's impact on modern-day society, and created FUTURE inventions based on their person's accomplishments!  Students presented their amazing work to parents and classes who visited the faire and enjoyed getting into character!  Some students even showcased Google Cardboard virtual reality glasses, allowing students to virtually travel to places related to their Renaissance person, such as The Great Wall of China for Marco Polo and the Sistine Chapel for Michelangelo!  Enjoy the festivities below!  Click here to see Renaissance in-class oral presentations too!
