Analyzing Tone & Setting
Students are enjoying reading Seedfolks by Paul Fleischman and analyzing character's tone in each chapter told by a new character in a run-down neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio. Their first task after annotating the first two chapters for narrator's tone was to use textual evidence to compare and contrast tone using a Venn Diagram and creating a scene (one slide with several pictures) or pictorial (several slides with citations/pictures) after analyzing setting.
